Small Island Digital came about because we wanted to do more than digital content marketing. We would look at other businesses and discuss what strategy we would implement to make their business stronger. Yep, that’s right. As a husband and wife team, this is what we talk about!
We, Phil and Sonja, have been married since 2017 and have always loved three things: travel, business and being outdoors.
We realised to have enough free time and income to travel and enjoy the great outdoors our business needed to be a success. But as our family grew, our definition of success changed, and quality of life and time with our young boys became the focus.
We now live on the Isle of Skye and are both raising our boys together. We have created a life where we are time-rich and able to enjoy their early years to the very fullest.
We now want to show others how to escape the 9-5 role and how to create a career for you, your online business and your family.

Phil
Phil has a passion for all things social, especially the strategy behind community building. A credited business strategist, Phil enjoys asking the sort of questions that can create light bulb moments for others.
Phil has worked was a successful Social Media Manager specialising in Community management and strategy. He was part of an agency that produced successful and often award-winning campaigns for the likes of Edinburgh Gin and Estrella Galicia.
